Vesta Terminals is proud to develop the Green Point Valley project in Vlissingen (Flushing), Netherlands, establishing Europe’s leading import terminal for green ammonia. This groundbreaking initiative will repurpose two existing 30,000 cbm refrigerated ammonia tanks, creating a vital gateway for green ammonia shipments into Europe.
The Green Point Valley project involves two existing ammonia storage tanks and the construction of additional capacity. This infrastructure will be able to connect to a range of outlet facilities, including a pipeline connection to an ammonia-to-hydrogen cracking facility, a rail network for distributing ammonia across Europe, and barge and ship loading/unloading facilities to and from Europe and the rest of the world. In the future, ammonia and/or hydrogen will be able to be distributed to European customers through pipeline system like the Gasunie Hydrogen Backbone grid, ensuring wide-scale access. Having already received its preliminary permit, the project is expected to become the first commercial ammonia logistics hub in Europe. Through its phased development, Green Point Valley is well positioned to become a cornerstone in Europe’s transition to clean energy.
