VESTA BIOFUELS AMSTERDAM BV

Vesta Biofuels Amsterdam is currently investing in a new biodiesel production facility in Westport Amsterdam. The plant is strategically located on the site of Oiltanking’s large storage facility in the port. Oiltanking will provide the storage and basic utility services for the plant. Vesta Biofuels will have 40,000 cubic metres of dedicated state of the art for storage capacity of raw materials and finished products. Vesta Biofuels Amsterdam has excellent access to sea, inland waterways and road infrastructure.
The core activity of Vesta Biofuels will be the production of high-quality biodiesel (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) meeting the specific customer requirements.
The construction started in January 2010 and is scheduled to be completed in summer 2011.
Vesta Biofuels Amsterdam BV, is wholly owned by Mercuria Energy Asset Management BV and is part of the Mercuria Energy Group which is one of the world’s five largest independent energy trading companies. The wider Group provides Vesta Biofuels with customised logistical energy solutions along with stringent risk management practices and an intricate knowledge of the energy markets. Hence, Vesta is able to offer assistance to its clients in managing volume, price, currency and logistical risks should such need arise. The plant is operated by professionals with extensive experience in biofuels production as well as the petrochemical industry. Onsite safety and quality management are top priorities with a constant effort towards operational excellence.
